Hurricane is a city in Washington County, Utah and is a part of the St. George Metropolitan area located in Southwestern Utah. Hurricane, which is pronounced "Hur-a-kin" by local residents, is on the far eastern edge of Washington County and has great amenadies for family fun, dining, and hotels. The town boasts multiple parks, a new dog park, a city pool and large community center, several ranked golf courses, two reservoir lakes noted for bass fishing (Sand Hollow Recreation Area and Quail Lake State Park), as well as a small municipal airfield. The Grand Canyon is accessible via SR-59 (off State Street and 100 East). Proceeding directly through town, SR-9 also transitions (in neighboring La Verkin, Utah) to the highway that leads directly to Zion National Park.

Sand Hollow State Park has limitation due to Covid-19. With this in mind, the park will allow primitive camping only to Registered Participants of the Trail Hero event. With this in mind, we have worked a deal to provide free onsite camping for all participants at a different side of the park. The West Rim Entrance or Washington Dam Exit will provide well over 300 first come first serve primitive camping sites. Please look at the photo below of details. This is be unregulated camping, please be courteous to other campers.
